Editorial
Charter.
The principles that guide every article, documentary, podcast, campaign and community experience published under The Dankville.
- 01
Our Mission
The Dankville exists to change the conversation around cannabis in India through education, culture, community and evidence. Our editorial mission is to normalize informed dialogue by covering the science, policy, wellness, agriculture and heritage of cannabis with rigour, empathy and responsibility. Our extended initiatives — Wake Bake & Meditate and Off Limits Coffee — reflect the same mission through community experiences and hospitality.
- 02
Editorial Independence
Our editorial decisions are made by our editors alone. No advertiser, sponsor, investor, partner or subject of a story holds any influence over what we publish, how we frame it or when. Contributors are briefed on this principle before a story begins.
- 03
Accuracy & Fact Checking
Every article, podcast episode, documentary segment and campaign statement is fact-checked before publication. Numbers, dates, quotes, medical claims and legal references are verified against primary sources or peer-reviewed research. Where verification is impossible, we say so plainly in the text.
- 04
Research & Sources
We prioritise:
- Peer-reviewed medical and scientific research.
- Government publications, court rulings and official policy drafts.
- On-record interviews with practitioners, farmers, researchers and community members.
- Historical, cultural and Ayurvedic scholarship on cannabis in India.
Anonymous sources are used sparingly and only when a story cannot be told otherwise. Their identity is protected but their information is corroborated independently.
- 05
Corrections Policy
If we make a factual error we correct it promptly, transparently and visibly on the same page — with a note explaining what was changed and when. We do not silently edit published work. Readers who believe we have made an error are encouraged to write in.
- 06
Transparency
We disclose material conflicts of interest, including any relationship between our editorial team and the subject of a story. Founders' or contributors' commercial affiliations (for example, Bakd Supply, Wake Bake & Meditate or Off Limits Coffee) are declared when relevant to the story being told.
- 07
Sponsored Content Policy
Any content published in partnership with a brand, institution or organisation is clearly labelled as sponsored, in partnership with or presented by. Sponsored content follows the same accuracy and disclosure standards as our independent editorial work. Sponsors have no influence over the reporting of our unpaid stories.
- 08
Medical & Legal Disclaimer
The Dankville publishes information for education and public understanding. Nothing on our platform constitutes medical advice, legal advice or a recommendation to consume, purchase or trade cannabis. Cannabis laws in India are complex and evolving — please consult a qualified doctor, lawyer or policy expert for guidance specific to your situation.
- 09
Community Standards
We build our community around curiosity, respect and evidence. Harassment, hate speech, misinformation or promotion of illegal activity is not tolerated on any of our platforms — including reader submissions, podcast comments and Wake Bake & Meditate gatherings. We reserve the right to remove content or restrict participation that violates these standards.
